Howdy, Readers! Following is the premise of Sword Art Online-

Imagine logging-in one day to play your favorite virtual reality game and then finding out that you cannot log out until you have completed it, i.e. killed the ultimate boss. Being able to live in virtual reality may be a dream come true for most, but what happens when you cannot leave that place and return to your own lives? Especially when you realize your real-world lives are at stake here.

Written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by ABEC, SAO is a Japanese light novel that follows this unique premise. The series follows protagonist Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki as they play through various virtual reality MMORPG worlds. After the comeback, this July, the highly expected release of Sword Art Online Season 3 Part 2 Episode 37 was long overdue.

Being one of the recent hits in the Isekai Genre, after its Season 3 Alicization War of Underworld DEBUT, the anime’s ratings bumped up. To read about other anime in the Isekai Category, click here.

They released the anime adaptation of these light novels in 2012. And since then, the exciting and unique premise of Sword Art Online has hooked many fans all over the world. Sword Art Online light novels have over 20 million copies sold worldwide.

A1-Pictures has released three seasons till now, while the third finishes this September. Fans wonder, after Kirito’s Journey from Aincrad to Alicization, will there be a Season 4?

Updates on Season 4:

Season 3 Alicization – War of Underworld Part 2 is an adaptation of volumes 15 through 18 of Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series. The word is, Reki needs more time to create satisfying content for the upcoming season. If he publishes a few more volumes by next year, miraculously; we expect SAO Season 4 to release tentatively by 2022.

The creator of the show wants to release all seasons by the end of 2022, however, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, there are no official promises made. The silver-lining being—Yes, there will be a Season 4 renewal!! The Unitial Ring arc has a much more promising future for our beloved characters. Is the war of the underworld going to spread out in the actual world? That remains to be seen.

The ongoing war in the underworld has entered the maximum-acceleration phase. Can Kirito leverage his fight with Gabriel Miller/Subtilizer to buy enough time for Alice to log out? Yes, the next episode “Beyond Time” will release on 6th September 2020.
