Miguel Sapochnikprincipal director and showrunner of ‘The Dragon’s House, announced that he will leave the series at the end of the 1st season. The HBO show will now be led only by Ryan Condalwith the creative supervision of the writer George R.R. Martin and broadcaster executives.

Sapochnik asked for a break after the exhausting process of creating the new series, which took at least three years. The site reiterates that the director remains on good terms with HBO, and should return to the channel with other projects, leaving the doors open. (via Hollywood Reporter)

please note that Miguel Sapochnik was a veteran of the Westeros universe, having also directed episodes of ‘Game of Thrones‘. He is directing the first episode of ‘The Dragon’s House‘, which soon became one of the most viewed of all time in HBO.
